Becoming a Client

Introductory Call

When you call our office, a team member will gather information to determine the legal services you need and will schedule a complimentary consultation at our office. If you wish to view available appointments and self-schedule, this option is accessible on our website. We will schedule you with the first available senior paralegal and/or attorney who can assist with your matter unless you express a preference for a particular lawyer.

We require that you complete and submit our questionnaire, which we will provide to you electronically prior to your initial appointment. This will provide us with the essential information needed to ensure our meeting is as effective as possible and to accurately evaluate your situation and address your concerns.

Your Initial Visit

01

Wills & Trusts Planning

Our attorneys will evaluate your estate needs, taking into consideration your family dynamics and assets, and inform you about estate planning alternatives to identify the plan that best fits your family.

02

Powers of Attorney & Healthcare Directives

Our team believes these documents are crucial to any estate plan. A consultation will encompass guidance on the use of these documents and the meticulous selection of qualified agents.

03

Estate & Trust Administration

We provide an electronic questionnaire to gather important information ahead of your appointment. We then evaluate the assets to determine whether summary probate proceedings are an option or full probate is necessary.

04

Special Needs Planning

Our firm is passionate about assisting families with adults and children who have special needs. We will address your goals and provide guidance on how to safeguard any legacy you wish to leave without affecting government benefits.

05

Guardianship

Our firm is fully prepared to represent you in guardianship proceedings before the Court of Chancery for the State of Delaware, for both personal and property guardianships for adults and minors.

06

Business

We seek to understand you, your business, and your goals. We explore all options available — whether formation, consultation, transactions, succession planning, or other business necessities.

07

During All First Appointments

We are committed to being upfront about legal costs. Our flat-fee billing approach for estate planning guarantees transparency and eliminates unexpected charges. We also offer estimates for hourly-billed matters.

After Your Initial Visit

Following your initial appointment, an engagement letter will be provided for you to sign and return. We typically send all correspondence electronically and accept electronic signatures on engagement letters, unless the client finds this method inconvenient.

Once hired, we will execute the plan established in the initial meeting. You will receive information about subsequent steps and the timeline concerning your legal matter, and our team will be available to support you throughout the process.
